A New Virus Has Arrived is a very special book for children of all ages, even parents and grandparents too. With beautiful illustrations, it explains the Novel Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) in a sensitive and meaningful way.

  • Facts about the virus
  • How does it affect us?
  • How can you protect yourself?
  • Bilingual in English and Chinese
  • Printable activity sheets
  • Also available in Malay, Tamil, Hindi, Spanish, Greek, Bahasa Indonesia, Japanese, Vietnamese

We respect children as curious and capable individuals. They are constantly making sense of their interactions and building an understanding of the world. As parents, we have an innate desire to protect our children against anything harmful. Instead of succumbing to our fears, let us instead engage and connect with our children as we support them in navigating the world.

We hope this book opens up opportunities for dialogue and learning, for both child and adult.

A note from the publisher:

‘A New Virus Has Arrived’ was published on the 6th of February in English and Chinese. Very quickly the book went viral and there were several thousand downloads in a span of days. Soon, we started receiving requests from people outside of Singapore asking if they could share the book in their community and if it was possible to translate it into other languages. We worked on their requests and today the book is available in 9 languages: English-Chinese, Malay, Tamil, Hindi, Spanish, Greek, Bahasa Indonesia, Japanese, Vietnamese.

Today, we continue to receive feedback from all over the world thanking us for the book. It was especially heart-warming when a non-profit organisation in Greece that supports children with disabilities offered to translate the book into Greek so that their community could access it, because in their words “all children deserve to know”.

Thank you for the numerous messages of appreciation from parents, children, partners, and business owners from all over the world!
